As part of efforts to monitor and streamline activities within the gold trade sector, all gold dealers licenced by the Precious Minerals Marketing Company shall be required to file monthly returns on their trade activities. The returns shall indicate the quantities of gold purchased and to whom they were sold and/or exported to.
All licenced gold dealers can file their returns electronically via email by sending them to returns@pmmc.gov.gh. Alternatively, hard copies of the returns can be delivered to the PMMC Head Office, Diamond House, Kinbu, Accra. Please note that the filing of the monthly returns is a pre-requisite for renewal of a licence.
PMMC licenced gold dealers are hereby reminded of the terms and conditions governing the grant of their trading licences which include the duty not to use or permit the use of the licence in any criminal enterprise or to facilitate money laundering.
PMMC licenced gold dealers are further reminded that PMMC reserves the exclusive right to revoke a licence upon stated grounds including but not limited to a breach of the terms and conditions.
The general public is advised to deal with only gold dealers who have a valid and authentic licence from PMMC.
